Why is it that the simplest things sometimes stand out and mean more to us than we realise? We spend our lives continuously awaiting for the day when "X" happens in order to be happy... when all along we are missing the excitement of the whole journey. Sitting outside in the sun today, I realised how wonderful it felt when the rays hit my skin. It was almost like it melted into my soul and uplifted my whole mood. There were no fireworks or alarms going off, simply the realisation of how good I felt at that very moment. Could it be? Was I really just buzzing with positive energy over the mere feeling of the sun against my ski? Yep, I can honestly say I was content.
Or the time when I stood in the kitchen watching my beautiful daughters teasing their grandmother about her hearing aid and she was completely oblivious to the whole thing. The giggling and smiles were contagious. Yep....there's another "ahhhhhh" moment. Or even the feeling of holding a newborn baby against your bare chest; their little heart beating against yours. Need I say it? Another "ahhhhhh" moment...
We spend our lives working long hours, juggling finances, raising kids and waiting for the day when we can allow ourselves to be happy. Happiness is all around us if we take the time to acknowledge and enjoy the little moments. Life is too short to focus on the negatives in our lives. It consumes us, and sucks the life energy out from within if we let it take control. Enjoy your family, your friends and loved ones because time becomes the past before we know it and in a blink of an eye, moments have slipped away and we're back to square one. Cherish the times when you are doubled over in laughter, giggling like a child and losing all capacity to keep a straight face... if anything, it's one step closer to bliss...

So we are back again with my favourite subject in the whole universe...LAUGHTER!!! Yes I can admit it: laughter is my weakness. Well it's actually the giggles that make me weak and smiling from ear to ear like a flaming idiot. But that is beside the point. So why, you may ask, does it feel so wonderful to laugh? Is it the fact that we raise our vibrations or is it because it's so uplifting to be around happy people. To be honest, I really don't mind because when I am having a challenging day, nothing helps to raise my energy more than having a good laugh. I think this may be one of the only things in this world that I find addictive. There are instances when even the giggle of a small child can set me off. Most of the time however it's when friends are talking to me in some strange foreign accent about absolute rubbish. They’re good like that! We simply have to look at each other and burst out laughing. You know what I mean... those instances when you laugh so hard you forget all the stressful issues in your life and focus on how alive you feel at that very second. These fabulous spurts of pure madness are essential to our well being and sanity.
These are the moments I etch into my heart and spirit; they are the memories I hold on to when things are running me down. It's also very useful ammunition when it's time to mock your mates! I know I have done my part to provide my friends with flashes of pure insanity to stock up on. I just hope they deleted those dodgy videos and pictures.... lol So smile like you are an absolute nutter and laugh whenever you have the opportunity to do so. I recommend it on a regular basis. Trust me... I know a thing or two about insanity

Music is one of my passions... it makes me feel alive, vibing and connected. A single note or a lyric can send me back flashing to a past memory instantly. And in that very moment a feeling emerges... ahhhh elation… I am youmg, in a Montreal night club, dancing and feeling the music into my very core. I feel alive and happy. That's something that fascinates me: the powerful effect music has on people and cultures. Music connects, excites, makes you feel emotions whether you want to or not. It just happens... like that. Poof!! Magic! The ability to recreate a scenario in your head instantly by simply listening to a song is phenomenal. I have been known to turn on my computer, choose a play list and turn the music way up. The effect: myself dancing all around the room like I was 19 again and singing along like a diva with no care in the world. A sight for sore eyes I must say, and also an amazing feeling. My energy vibrations rise, my mood is lifted and the corners of my mouth curl upward to reveal a smile. No wonder I am addicted!
It's one of the few things that I could not live without. I know it's kind of a cheesy thing to say yet it's so true. I cannot imagine our world without music!!!! What a quiet place it would be and not really somewhere I can picture myself living to be honest. If that were the case I would hop on the next space shuttle out of this galaxy! With this statement I digress, so on to a more positive note... Music has the power to make you feel sexy. Yes I said the "s" word, so brace yourself! Picture a song that makes you want to sway and move your hips around.... go on.... do it. Now think of how easy it is to sway provocatively when you hear the song. Hmmmmmm careful people, things just might get interesting... or you may slip a disc swaying. It could go either way; depending on how long it's been since you last swayed. :-)
Oh, did you hear that? It's the sound of vibrations rising....BOOYAH!!!!

Through the years, as I rode this roller coaster called life, it has brought about a greater understanding about people and love. Along this journey, I have learnt that people's words don't mean a thing unless their actions confirm the same. Anyone can tell you they love you. But can they back up their words with concrete actions; real acts of genuine love, admiration, passion, and respect for you? Or do they hold back, waiting just in case a better or younger option comes along.
All I know, is that we are creatures fueled by the need to be loved and accepted. As children, we often form a fantasy of what real love looks like. And generally, this entails ideologies of perfect mates, ideal situations and happily ever after. Unfortunately, we are blinded by fantasy because we are bombarded with images, movies, and songs claiming that love conquers all! The only thing I can say to that is....NONSENSE!!
I believe, however, that genuine love between two people does exist. A connection between two souls is real and genuine when it comes without conditions. I believe if you truly love someone you love them with all their imperfections and qualities. If you can see past people's humanly flaws, if you can stand strong and devoted in hard times, if you can let down your guard and let others see the inner you, if you can open your scarred heart and give yourself completely and without hesitation, if you can hold your partner so close that their energy merges with yours... then and only then can you know the true meaning of unconditional love.
If you are ever graced with this kind of devotion or connection with another soul, cherish it... as the universe has given you a gift worth more than you can imagine....
